Simon Mayo


Simon Mayo is one of Britain’s best-loved and well-known radio presenters. He has worked on BBC radio since 1981 and is now the presenter of Drivetime on BBC Radio 2, which features the regular ‘Book Club’ show. Confessions, published by Random House in 2011, is based on the confessional segments of his radio shows.

Simon Mayo’s first novel, the Sunday Times top 10 bestselling Itch was published by Random House Children’s Books and was the debut children’s hardback of the year, and the third bestselling debut fiction hardback across the whole of adults’ and children’s in 2012. It has been shortlisted for the National Book Awards, Northern Ireland Book Awards and long-listed for the UKLA Book Awards and the Carnegie Award for Children’s Book of the Year.

His YA novel called Blame was also published by Penguin Random House in 2016, and was long-listed for the Carnegie Kate Greenaway award. His latest book, Mad Blood Stirring, was published by Doubleday in 2018.
