Colin Sutton

Colin Sutton was a Senior Investigating Officer in the Metropolitan Police from 2003 – 2011, leading more than 30 successful murder investigations, notably the Levi Bellfield case and the successful re-investigation of the 17-year reign of terror of the ‘Nightstalker’, Delroy Grant.

Colin has extensive experience of proactive and reactive investigations, investigative reviews and intelligence-gathering and analysis, having held the rank of Detective Chief Inspector in varied roles for a total of 15 years in three different police forces.

Since retirement he has conducted investigations for large companies, public bodies and private individuals and also worked in TV, Radio and print media commenting on high-profile crimes and strategic issues such as police reform and criminal law.

His account of the Levi Bellfield investigation, ‘Manhunt’, was adapted for TV and starred Martin Clunes as Colin in what was ITV’s most-watched drama for more than six years.

Colin is currently working on a further two true-crime books and harbours a not-so-secret desire to write fiction in the future.
