Antonia Hodgson, a former leading publisher in the UK, is already a CWA Dagger winner in her new career as a novelist. Antonia Hodgson’s first novel, The Devil in the Marshalsea, won the CWA Historical Dagger 2014 and was shortlisted for the Theakston’s Crime Novel of the Year, the John Creasey Dagger for Best First Novel and the HWA Debut Crown. It was also a Richard & Judy and Waterstones Book Club selection. Her second book, The Last Confession of Thomas Hawkins, was published in 2015 to widespread critical acclaim. A Death in Fountains Abbey was the third outing for her central character, Thomas Hawkins and his long-suffering partner, and it cemented her standing in the historical fiction world. Antonia was born and grew up in Derby and studied English at the University of Leeds. She lives in London.
